Introducing Sweet Nothings….

Hello Everyone!

*The Sweet nothings Collection is one of the prettiest, most romatic collections Kaisercraft has ever released. Flowing through this gorgeous range you will find beautiful cherubs, flowers, butterflies and birds. Sweet Nothings takes you away on a dream of soft pastel pinks, blues and greens that just blend so brilliantly together. Not only can this range be used for the obvious love and romance projects, you will want to scrap EVERYTHING with Sweet Nothings as it’s just so beautiful!

Here are the layouts and cards that Amber and Jenny created:

Jenny created the above 2 layouts with only the paper pad from Sweet Nothings, some Kraft Cardstock, and some flowers and lettering from her own stash + she still had plenty of papers left over. and for those of us watching our pennies – each layout costs less than $7 to make!

Amber created the following 2 layouts:

All the flowers are handmade using left overs from the paper except for the little roses, the leaves are cut using left over papers and a die from Cheery Lynn (used with her cuttlebug).

I can’t wait to start creating with this collection….

Just a little update…..

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I haven’t blogged much, we have been very busy planning and preparing for the coming months. We have a Wonderful holiday programme nearly ready for release. There is something for everyone and for kids all ages in there.

There is a great little Christmas Party planned, VIP club and lots of other great things. make sure you sign up for our newsletter on the website to be the first in the know.

I’m off to bed now – had a very full day of business training today, and another one tomorrow. Even though we were told a lot of what I already knew (but didn’t do) I now have a few system ideas to put in place to achieve all that I want to in a more orderly way. Can’t wait till Thursday to put my new found enthusiasm in place.

wishing you all a wonderful week and thank you to all those who joined in our Facebook Sale.

Madame Boutique Collection

I had trouble posting Jenny’s photos  from the November kaiser collection of Madame Boutique, so today I am trying again 🙂
As usual the collection is made up of  12×12″ papers, a paper pad, rub ons, specialty papers and sticker sheets as well as a set of stamps. Oh and Kaiser have also released some gorgeous die cut shapes that all coordinate, and also come with about 50 pieces in one bag, all for only $6.99 🙂 There is something in this collection for everyone.
Jenny has shown us that collections that seems to be very feminine can in fact work well for boys/men’s layouts as well.
All of the products used for the layouts below can be found in store or ordered on line.

I’ve Been Around the World

Scrapbooking is all about preserving memories, and a lot of memories have resurfaced while I have been busy scrapping with October Afternoon’s Boarding Pass Collection.

Rather than scrapping more pages from our trip to Europe last year, I decided on the years I spent traveling by sea. I spent 5 years on 3 different cruise ships, working 5 months at a time 7 days a week 12+ hours a day.

We went to see the ballet in St Petersburg, Russia, went night clubbing in Havana, Cuba, swimming with Dolphins in Cozumel Mexico, went on a Gondola ride in Venice, visited the malibu brewery in Barbados, sailed on one of the yachts from the American Cup in St Maarten, and visited so many historical sites in Europe. (Rome, Pisa, Valencia, Venice, Livorno, Sweden, Norway, Nordkap, Finland, Southampton, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Dubrovnik and so much more!)

Unfortunatley as I was working on the ship for so long and visited many places every 2 weeks during a season I rarely had my camera with me as I always thought – next time.

Do you have many memories you would like to scrap but have no photos? What was / is your solution? I might need to order some icon landmark photos online….

A great gift idea

Hi, it’s Jen again. I made this cute little album for a friends wedding shower/hens night. The thought behind it was to have all of the guests there on the night write their pearls of wisdom about marriage or relationships down, to encourage the soon to be bride. It could be fun tips or serious tips 🙂

Marijke and I had a lovely lady come into the store and she let us play with some of her embossing folders and dies for the Cuttlebug and big shot die cutting machines.  You will be happy to know that after our “play,” Marijke has now ordered a few different shapes, including the ones used for this project, for you to use in store at a small fee 🙂
1. This is the finished project, it is very plain and simple. One of the pages has been covered and stamped. There is also a cover made from clear plastic just to protect it a little more.

2. This little bird punch is soooo cute and added a little something to a plain page.

3. The finished result, all the pages were made from kraft card stock,  inked edges, a little bit of lace and ribbon and an album ring. And it is now a keepsake with advice from people the Bride cares about, so a lovely memory made.

This could also be used as a little mini album for photo’s,  the possibilities are endless really, just let your imagination fly.

Introducing Madame Boutique

Sorry for the delay! I have been meaning to do this post since last week but I still needed to print a photo of my Grandmother to stick on the layout. Finally did it today so here are the projects we have made:

First up the 2 layouts I created.

Sorry about the flash on the photos – that’s what you get when you take them at night! The photo is of my Oma on the day she turned 90 years old. She was given 90 red roses by my parents. All edges are distressed and papers are sewn on to the layout using gold thread.

Again sorry for the flash….I found the colours of madame Boutique where perfect for a men’s layout so I used the papers that don’t have any roses on it. Ths photo is of my father in 1962 in his favourite dressing gown – he still has it!

And here is the layout that Amber created using 2 full size sheets from madame Boutique as the background and the cut out doillies the rest of the layout was made using papers from the 6.25″ paper pad.

And last but definately not least are all the items Jenny created using only 8 sheets of paper, 2 speciality papers, sticker sheet, die cuts and the rub on. She used every single last scrap of paper! That’s a HUGE achievement in itself!!

I have been trying to load up all the photos but the internet / computer is not co-operating so I will finish loading Jenny’s projects tomorrow.

Gorgeous project…

Hi, it’s Jen again 🙂  I saw this project in the Kaisercraft free workshop magazine, June edition and knew I had to make it. (If you haven’t seen the mags, pop into the shop and pick one up as they are loaded with inspiration!)  I love making handmade gifts for people and  these BTP projects are so simple. I made this for a girlfriend for a wedding shower/hens night, I loved the verse on the inside.

1. First step is to sand all edges and add a coat or two of paint. I used kaiser “mud puddle”. It  doesn’t matter how messy you paint it as all you will see are the edges, so don’t be too fussy here, as you can see I haven’t 🙂 Another tip for messy work areas is to lay butchers paper down on the table and then it doesn’t matter about ruining your work surface and you can get as messy as you like 🙂
2. Cover the project in your fave piece of paper. I have used a piece from the Velvet Ensemble collection called “Costume”. Cut out the middle and lightly sand all edges.

 3. Don’t forget to pay attention to the back, if you are going to do a great job on the front, why not make the back look good too, especially if it  is for a gift for someone else.

3. Attach some Blooms. I have used a mix of kaiser blooms from a few different colour collections. I just loved the splash of colour on this very neutral  frame.  To make sure they really were stuck down I used some Glossy Accents. Glossy accents works great as a glue as it dries clear and once something is stuck, it will not move and it is not messy to use!

4. The project is finished. A shot of the back looking pretty 🙂

5. The verse in the middle was originally  a rub on from the dream collection but Marijke had sold out and a new order was on it’s way in, but I needed it NOW! So I got my computer smart daughter to make a replica for me using word, and I think it looks awesome!

So that’s the finished project, I love it! It took me about 2 hours from start to finish with time allowing the glue and paint to dry, answering the phone, attending to the families needs etc. We don’t always have large blocks of time for craft, so you just have to fit it in where you can!
All materials for this can be found in store or can be ordered.
Have fun!

Diamond Dust and Alcohol Inks

Diamonds are a girls best friend….and that is proving to be true for me and my relationship with Diamond Dust! I have been using plenty of it and love the added effect it gives to layouts and BTP projects. I have just come across a you tube video showing how to colour using alcohol inks. Imagine the posibilites……

We now have Diamond Dust in store. It costs $5.25 for 85 gr (that’s a  lot of diamond dust!). Postage to outside of Geraldton would be $5.60 due to the jar unless you would like me to pour it into a zip lock bag and then it would only be $1 postage. You can then store it in any jar you have at home.

Have you made anything with Diamond Dust?
