I’m a little Tea Pot

Hi, It’s Jen here.  Have you ever heard people talk about  BTP and wondered what they were talking about? The letters stand for “beyond the page”  A lot of people think Scrapbooking shops only deal with  papers and you only make page layouts, but there is so much more!
Kaiser have great craft projects, big and small that really take you beyond the page, and they are so much fun. My daughter and I love to do craft, any kind, we don’t care , as long as our hands are busy, we are happy. So over the next few weeks I thought I would share a few projects we have made together. I hope they inspire you to try something you may not have tried before, to be creative and give it a go. I have made gorgeous presents for friends, decorations for my home, albums for photos etc. Just when I think I have done enough, Kaiser bring out some more! Marijke has dozens of different projects in store. Have you seen the beautiful Bird cage she made? I must try one of them next 🙂
But firstly, I thought I would share this  cute little tea cup photo album. I decorated this one with the kaisercraft Lilac Avenue collection. It would be perfect for displaying photos from a kitchen tea party, afternoon tea with Grandma, or  a nice get together with friends, enjoying a cuppa together.
1.This is how the project starts.

2.Sand all sides

3.Paint around the edges and then cover with pretty paper

4. Dress it up a bit, add some bling and it is finished

5. Give it away and watch a big smile appear on someones face 🙂

Kaiser November Releases

Another month brings another 2 great new collections from Kaisercraft.
There is the cute Cock-a-doodle-doo and at the complete opposite side of the scale Madame Boutique.

Amber, Jenny and I have been busy creating some layouts and projects using these which we will share with you this week.

The collections are due in store later this week.

An Introduction to Scrapbooking

Hello! Starting on Monday 31st october we will be holding an Introduction to Scrapbooking class. This runs for 6 weeks and will cost $20 per week or $90 if you book and pay for the whole 6 weeks. Classes start promptly at 6.30pm and run for 2 hours.

For the $90 you will receive:

  3. Use of all tools. After the first week you will need to bring your own adhesive.

See below a sneak peek of the classes – full layouts can be viewed in the shop.

At the end of the 6 weeks you will be able to:

  • Feel confident to make your own embellishments
  • Know about various adhesives and tools
  • Make beautiful flowers
  • Use brads
  • Faux stitch
  • make bunting

New: Prima Sampler Kits

Sometimes (actually quite often!) a customer will come and in and have a very hard time choosing between collection especially as most of us need to stick to a budget. So I decided to split up 4 of the new Prima Paper Pads and flowers and made the sampler packs. The Romantique, Alla Prima and Londonerry are $5.25 each and the North Country one is $6.99 (this one includes a couple of the new Ceramic tiles as well). I have only made a limited amount of each so you need to be quick if you would like one.

Each pack contains 16 sheets of 6×6″ patterned paper (single sided) and 1/3 pack of flowers.

Christmas is just around the corner!

Hi it’s Jen here, I hope I didn’t shock you with that comment, but with November fast approaching, it really is just around the corner.  That means if you make your own Christmas cards and haven’t done so yet, it is time to get  moving!
I have made all of the beautiful cards below (34) in total, all from one kaiser  6 1/2″ paper pad. These pads are great for card making as all pages are colour matched and they also come with die cut shapes and pages that can be used for embellishments. They are sold in store for only $10.99. The collection I have used is called  “the silly season” and it is gorgeous. The only extras  I have used are white card, one  piece of paper also from the same collection called “milk and cookies” and essentials such as double sided tape, a stamp, mounting foam and ink!
Everything can be bought in store. Using the paper pad makes handmade cards very affordable. Once you have finished your cards we would love to see what you have come up with, so post a pic on our FB page and show us how creative you are 😉   And don’t stop at Christmas cards, we have oodles of paper pads to choose from, you are only limited by your imagination, let it soar!
