Gorgeous project…

Hi, it’s Jen again 🙂  I saw this project in the Kaisercraft free workshop magazine, June edition and knew I had to make it. (If you haven’t seen the mags, pop into the shop and pick one up as they are loaded with inspiration!)  I love making handmade gifts for people and  these BTP projects are so simple. I made this for a girlfriend for a wedding shower/hens night, I loved the verse on the inside.

1. First step is to sand all edges and add a coat or two of paint. I used kaiser “mud puddle”. It  doesn’t matter how messy you paint it as all you will see are the edges, so don’t be too fussy here, as you can see I haven’t 🙂 Another tip for messy work areas is to lay butchers paper down on the table and then it doesn’t matter about ruining your work surface and you can get as messy as you like 🙂
2. Cover the project in your fave piece of paper. I have used a piece from the Velvet Ensemble collection called “Costume”. Cut out the middle and lightly sand all edges.

 3. Don’t forget to pay attention to the back, if you are going to do a great job on the front, why not make the back look good too, especially if it  is for a gift for someone else.

3. Attach some Blooms. I have used a mix of kaiser blooms from a few different colour collections. I just loved the splash of colour on this very neutral  frame.  To make sure they really were stuck down I used some Glossy Accents. Glossy accents works great as a glue as it dries clear and once something is stuck, it will not move and it is not messy to use!

4. The project is finished. A shot of the back looking pretty 🙂

5. The verse in the middle was originally  a rub on from the dream collection but Marijke had sold out and a new order was on it’s way in, but I needed it NOW! So I got my computer smart daughter to make a replica for me using word, and I think it looks awesome!

So that’s the finished project, I love it! It took me about 2 hours from start to finish with time allowing the glue and paint to dry, answering the phone, attending to the families needs etc. We don’t always have large blocks of time for craft, so you just have to fit it in where you can!
All materials for this can be found in store or can be ordered.
Have fun!
