A few months ago Amber noticed on Kim Jeffres blog that Heidi Swapp and herself will be touring around Australia and said we should go, we then rang around to some of our scrappy friends and asked if they would like to go too… Plans fell in to place very quickly and our road trip was planned!
Finally the week had arrived! Our bags where packed and after taking kids to dancing classes etc we where on the road to Perth late on Friday and arrived at around 10pm.
We where all so excited we where up and ready VERY early and headed to the Dome for breakfast before heading to the venue for our day of classes.
Waiting outside for the doors to open. |
First up was a technique class with Heidi. She showed various techniques using her colour shine sprays.

Theresa, Karen and Carrie |
Donna, Jandell, Sam and Louise |
The difference between them and other brands like Glimmer Mist and Dylusions, is that the colours are more intense. Even though they are still a water based spray – it has less water and more paint giving it a more opaque look. And of course there is plenty of “shine” in it too!
After making several tags, and learning Heidi’s special Legally Blonde technique, it was time for lunch.
After lunch Kim Jeffres showed us a variety of techniques in our Christmas book.
Including painting our hands and making a Santa!
She also talked about how important it is to PRINT your photos and not just keep them on your computer. Unfortunately for Kim, she lost nearly all the photos she had from a very special holiday due to the computer breaking down.
We then breaked for afternoon tea. When we got back for our last class, a memory file album, Heidi shared her personal story with us. It also engraved deep in to us how important it is to scrap, and why we all started in the first place.
She has also inspired us to hold a very special monthly class starting in January – more details will follow! (Thanks Karen and Amber for helping me sort out my ideas while we where on our long journey home!)
And finally a group photo – except Karen, Carrie and Theresa had already gone outside… Might need to photoshop them in!
(Kim was on the other side of the room talking to other people which is why we couldn’t get her in this photo too. We do have a photo of Amber, Kim and I but for some reason it wouldn’t load.)
To round the day off, 5 of us went to dinner at Hogs breath cafe before starting our long drive home.
We all had a wonderful and inspiring day! We will definitely go again when they do another tour!
Photos of our classes will be put up as soon as I have finished them… hopefully that won’t take too long!
