2014

Why I love my job!

Just when you think everything is fully under control and you can have an easy (ier) week something comes up and you are busier than ever. Thanks for the chats, encouragement, ideas, help etc Ms C (208 minutes of it!) Ms R and Ms S, Ms A and Ms J (you all know who you are!). Thanks to you 5 I think this is going to be a massive year.

I just love how so many want to help in any way possible. Crafting is really more of a community rather than a shop and its customers. I love the ideas you give me, the crafty projects you show me, the challenges you throw at me! (although some have me pulling out my hair! lol).

I also really love it when people send through photos, or come in to show me of what they have made with products I sell, and here are a few from last week:

Kaiser Craft Desk Organiser decorated in the English Rose collection

Kaiser Craft Recipe Stand,

Kaiser Craft Desk Organiser decorated in Child’s Play. Celeste will make to order if you would like to purchase 1. Cost depends on whats included. Contact me and I’ll pass it on to her.

For some reason even though I upload it rotated, it keeps flipping sideways….

New Kaiser Craft Bracket Frame

Keep bringing in your projects!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday, and hopefully a cooler weekend!

New Page Kits available.

Due to the response to last weeks page kit, I have made another one using Webster’s Pages Hollywood Vogue Collection. This kit makes 3 single page layouts and costs $32.50.

Its hard to see the layering etc on the photos. If you would like a better look, they are on display in the shop. The kit didn’t include lettering this time to keep the cost down, but there are 8 sheets of paper, pearls, rhinestones, doilies, pins, blooms, 3 different ribbons and a chandelier flourish in the kit as well as full colour instructions.

Call in to the shop to buy or shop online. This is a limited edition kit.

Variety Club Youth Choir Flash Mob ‘I am Australian’

On Saturday at Karrinyup Shopping Centre (Western Australia) the Variety Club Youth Choir organized a FLASH MOB where they all were incognito in the Food Hall, and started standing up in groups singing “We are Australians” –

The purpose it to raise money for the QLD floods. Each time it is clicked on, money is raised through google ads, SO PLEASE WATCH!!!!!! It is a great way of supporting our fellow Australians.

Gift to give to your friends on valentine’s day….

Who doesn’t love to give a little gift? To show someone they are appreciated? Valentine’s Day is a perfect opportunity to show your friends and loved ones that you care – its not just for that 1 special someone.

A few weeks ago when I was blog hopping I came across a really great idea that a Stampin’ Up lady had made in New Zealand (sorry I can’t remember the blog as I went through so many blogs that day). They were little narrow cellophane bags filled with lollies and then a nice tag on top.

So after a couple of hours more searching for these bags, I found them and they arrived in store today. This is what I made with them:

The bags are 1″ wide and fit 10 jaffas in them. I used kaiser’s Love Notes papers for the labels. A bag of 100 of these skinny bags are $12. Limited stock.

I did try to put easter eggs in there, but they where too big. I think smarties would look really good in them as well.

Add a little card to it and you have a perfect gift on a budget! (Cards below are made using Love Notes).

What would you put in them?

Webster’s Page Layouts

Has everyone settled back in to routine? We have, I actually welcomed it. Although I do love days that are unplanned, I seem to get more done when there is a bit of structure.

Last week I made up a kit that makes 2 pages using the beautiful Webster Pages and new Kaiser Blooms. The kit includes everything to make these pages even the instructions! All for $29.95.

They were very popular and have nearly sold out….would you like to see more kits like these?

Warning regarding facebook.

I know this has nothing to do with Scrapbooking, but felt the need to tell everyone. Someone posted this info. on facebook and it was deleted very quickly.

I received the following information from Robert Grant via e-mail:

“Facebook Is Going To Take Your Likes And Comments
And Turn Them Into Ads – Opportunity or Abuse?”

Hmmm I wonder why…

Anyway, here is the shortened version for you 🙂
I will not be silenced.

The new Facebook privacy setting called “Instant Personalization”
is being rolled out.

AKA Facebook will be sharing your personal information with
external websites …

It’s a marketers paradise but this might make you angry …

The new setting shares your data with non-Facebook sites and
it’s automatically set to “Enabled”.

If you want to stop your personal info being shared with the Universe:

Go to Account >

Privacy Settings >

Apps & Websites >

Instant Personalization >

Edit settings and uncheck “Enable instant personalisation on partner websites”

Warning – If your friends don’t do this, they will be sharing info about you as well,
so make sure you forward this on to everyone you know and care about.

Tool of the Day – Crop-a-dile!

You can buy stock and have it in your shop for a while with no one giving it a 2nd glance so you start thinking maybe it wasn’t something I should stock, and then suddenly in 1 day 5 different  people can be after the same thing.

That’s what has happened with the Crop-o-dile the past 2 days. Everyone seems to want one. What is a crop-a-dile I hear some of you ask?

Its a Eyelet setter / hole punch. It can even punch holes in thin metal. We still have a couple in store and they are $10 below rrp!
I will leave you now with a video I found on you tube showing how to use it.
