What a week!

Thanks to everyone who came in to visit during our inaugural week. And thank you for all the kind and encouraging comments!

The school doors open again in the morning so that also means a term full of classes are about to start as well.

The class schedule has been changed a little due to some requests. (Yes I do really listen to everyone’s input – can’t always do everything but I try 🙂 )

In week 5 we have scheduled a Flower Power week! Learn to make quilled flowers on the Tuesday,  a layout class on the Wednesday (with lots and lots of flowers! ) and on Friday learn to make 8 different types of flowers. Some from paper others from fabric. These can be used in layouts as well as other crafts. The very talented Amber will be teaching this class. I am still trying to convince her to stay in Geraldton and not move to Tasmania. But before she leaves I will try and squeeze as many techniques and classes I can from her!

We have also planned in a Baby Week. Full of baby ideas and layouts, and then in week 8&9 we are having a Christmas fortnight. Lots of last minute card classes / ideas as well as table and home decorating ideas.

There are also plenty of other classes. You can drop in a collect a class schedule or send me your e-mail address and I will forward a copy to you.

Hope you all have a fantastic week!

I know, I know I haven’t kept up to date with the posting. But we did go to Europe for 3 weeks and when we came back we were working extremely hard to open our retail store.

We have now officially opened our doors, and have received some wonderful comments which has made our hard work worth it!

On the weekend I will be working overtime to try and get all the stock listed on the brand spanking new website.

Here are a couple of photos from our opening night…Christine and Joanne showing the way to the classroom. {which will be finished by next week 🙂 }
Our display table as you enter the shop. The layouts were made using the Pina Colada collection by the very talented Jandell! Very happy to have her as part of our design team.
Sam and Renae having a chat.
Tara, Fiona and Maureen checking out the display…

Shopping…You can see the back of Amber (talking to Nancy) who is also a part of our design team. Her forte is BTP items. Her work is simply stunning!Jodie and Nancy having a chat…
Becci having a look at the few flourishes we had left…they literally flew out the door. Not to worry, more flourishes are on their way across the Nullabor as I’m typing.
Doreen would like to start scrapbooking….when she gets a spare moment! And of course Elisa is also in the photo – she just wants to own my shop! 🙂

I’ll be back on the weekend…hope you all have a great Friday.

Today the courier dropped of 8 BIG boxes from Imaginisce. Beautiful leather look albums (5 different colours) and 18 different cute stamps! They will be on our shelves at the opening of our store.

Do you love the Imaginisce mini stamps?

Design Team Call Out!

Our design team has doubled today! As well as Amber we now also welcome Jandell onboard. Boy did I give her a lot of homework to do today!! Can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

We have also put out a design team call out. We would love to have another 2 designers onboard. Do you love KaiserCraft? Are you willing to complete 1 project a month for at least 6 months? If that sounds like you why don’t you enter by either:
* posting a link to your blog on here in the comments section
* posting photos of 3 of your layouts on our facebook page (Scrapbooking in Geraldton) or
* e-mailing the images of 3 layouts to me and I will post them on facebook.

The followers / likers on facebook will be able to vote for their favourite layouts. The best 6 will then go to the next round.

Round 2 requires you to complete a layout with a specified theme. These will also be put to the vote and the 2 with the most votes will become part of our design team.

Competition is only open to residents of Australia.

What’s in it for you?

You will receive 6 kits in total (either 1 a month or 2 every 2 months) from which you will be asked to create a layout. All we ask is for you to either let us display it in store (if you live in Geraldton) or post it on online. We may ask you to include instructions for some of them if they are going to be used for a class.

Can’t wait to see the entries! Good Luck!

Hello and Welcome!

As I am working hard on a new website set to be launched in October, as well as a retail store I thought I had better start a blog.

My aim is to do an update at least every 3 days…I’ll try my best.

Some of you may be thinking why open a Scrapbook store in Geraldton as we already have 1. To be honest that did hold me back for a while, but I feel the demand is there. Tania does a fantastic job, but there are so many brands and products out there now that it is hard for 1 store to stock everything. And Geraldton is growing quite quickly.

My main focus will still be KaiserCraft, but there will be other products as well. There will undoubtedly be some products which both stores will have (inks, albums, adhesives etc), but I am sure there will be many products which will only be found at either 1 or the other.

We will be continuing the classes we have been holding (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays) and we may add to them if the demand is there.

I’ll keep you updated and post some photos of our store as we fix it up inside.

Hope you all have a great week!

Christmas Carnival

Untitled-7a

Hello Everyone!

I would just like to show you some things I made yesterday using Kaisers Q2 Christmas Carnival Collection.

I was a bit stuck with what to give my daughters school teacher as a Thank You for this year, so I started playing around with the Carnival papers and this is what I came up with: (comments will be appreciated!!)
Its a little tote made from 1 sheet of 12″ papers, 2 brads and a strip of paper for the handle. For inside I made a little box out of pink cardstock which will be filled with either chocolates or toffees.
I then made a magnetic shopping list for on the fridge. (using some more of the pink cardstock, piece of ribbon, a couple of rhinestones and a small pad from king kong)

And I made a cover for a packet of post it notes. It has a little loop up the top for a small pencil or pen and I used the Carnival puffy stickers as an embellishment.
With a scrap of the cardstock I had left I made a little holder for either a gift voucher or lottery ticket.

I then decided I needed to make a table center piece for Christmas. Finding nothing else suitable I used the smaller square tissue box cover from Kaiser, turned it upside down, put a bit of cardboard in the bottom to seal the hole and painted it red. After I finished embellishing it, I filled it with florist foam and pushed a candle in. To cover the rest of the green I used some silvery tinselly stuff (sorry forgot the name!!).

Then I made a couple of quick cards:

Tomorrow I will show you what I have been making with the Lilac Avenue Collection.

Hope you have a great day!

Christmas Presents

Untitled-7

Hello Everyone!

For the past week I have been making Christmas Presents for my daughters teachers and some people who are very hard to buy for and have everything already anyway, so I thought to share them with you.
These are fabric covered 6 x 6″ note books I picked up at Target at a clearance price. I’ve had them for over a year always meaning to do something with them and now I finally have.

For the above note book I used the new Kaiser Christmas Carnival paper pad. These paper pads are great! Each pad includes 10 specialty papers (2 x flocked, 2 x spot varnish, 2 x foil and 4 die cuts) as well as 24 sheets of designed paper. I have also used Prima Flowers, our brand of crystal brads and AC Thickers.

For the purple note book I used the Lilac Avenue paper pad from Kaiser, Lilac Avenue Alpha Stickers (with matching chipboard) as well as Prima Flowers, Crystal Brads and Kaiser Adhesive Pearls and Ranger Ice Stickles.

Tomorrow I will show you the candle holder I made using the New Kaiser Christmas Carnival Range of papers.

Hope you have a great day!
